The Aeroflex GPSG-1000 is a state-of-the-art portable GPS and Galileo positional simulator, designed to meet the needs of modern testing environments. This innovative device combines ease of use, configurability, and affordability, making it an essential tool for professionals in need of a reliable simulation solution. With a robust 12-channel test set, the GPSG-1000 creates realistic three-dimensional simulations that are crucial for testing and development processes.

Key Features:

    • Signal Simulation: Simulates a wide range of GPS signals including L1, L1C, L2C, L5 and Galileo signals E1, E5, E5a, E5b, E6.
    • Simultaneous Operation: Capable of simultaneous GPS and Galileo simulation, enhancing testing versatility.
    • SBAS Support: Supports WAAS/EGNOS L1, L5, and includes future options for MSAS and GAGAN (available 2011).
    • Dynamic Simulation: Offers both static and multi-leg dynamic positional simulations with a waypoint entry system.
    • Configurable Channels: Available in 6 or 12 channel configurations with a seamless upgrade path, supporting RAIM.
    • Satellite Vehicle Parametrics: Programmable Satellite Vehicle (SV) parametrics and health for precise control.
    • Time and Date Reference: User or UTC referenced time and date to fit various testing scenarios.
    • Connectivity: Direct-connect option to receivers or installed systems via antenna coupler for streamlined functionality.
    • User-Friendly Interface: Features a large touch-screen display with a simple, intuitive user interface.
    • Remote Control: Equipped with USB/LAN interfaces for remote control capabilities.
    • NMEA Integration: Input feature compatible with NMEA 0183 standards for robust data integration.

Channel Configurations:

The 6-channel configuration offers 3D positional simulation with five channels dedicated to RAIM operation and one channel for SBAS (WAAS or EGNOS) simulation. For extended capabilities, the optional 12-channel configuration allows for a combination of visible SVs to be selected, enhancing testing complexity and realism.

Dynamic Positioning:

The GPSG-1000 allows users to enter simulated 3D positions either manually in latitude/longitude/height format or dynamically simulate using a sophisticated 50 leg waypoint entry scheme. Users can save up to 20 unique navigation plans for easy recall under user-defined names. The built-in GPS receiver enhances the simulation by allowing positioning to be based on an offset from the current test set position.

Waypoint Navigation:

Waypoint legs seamlessly connect in 3D space, automatically calculating range rate or altitude rate for increased navigation realism. Trajectory changes are effectively modeled to reflect real-world conditions, with realistic rates of turn and descent/climb. Waypoints can be entered manually or retrieved from a comprehensive airport or city database for added convenience.

SBAS Integration:

The GPSG-1000 allows for manual or automated selection of SBAS satellites (WAAS/EGNOS/MSAS/GAGAN), tailored to the simulated position for enhanced accuracy and performance in navigation simulations.
